News

I have good news, you guys!! I don't know about you, but it is good news to me. I'm going to keep it in the closet for a little while until it actually happens. So wait for my good news okay?

HINT : My blog

Guess what?? Still no idea? Then you'll just have to wait for it. Hehehe :)

Coughs, fever, headache.. what more?

I'm having the time of my life with this headache and fever. And the only reason why I'm typing away on my laptop is because I can't seem to sleep because I keep coughing and coughing and coughing and coughing.. and coughing some more. As much as I love being in bed all day, I can't stand it. Staying in bed is nothing if I can't really sleep.

And the works I have that are not even touched yet.. well, let's just not go there. I don't know how am I going to keep up, with the over piling works I have in front of me. Finals is less than a month and yeay, a test tomorrow too. How great is my life??? In case you haven't notice, I'm being sarcastic here. I can't even sit up straight because my head suddenly weights more than it should, so all I have to do is lie down and what? Cough?? Speaking of work, I'm meeting a customer from Little Hellion again tonight. The second meet up this week. Although I'm sick, I really don't mind going all the way for my lovely customers! I have a few more items to put up on LH today but I guess I'll have to wait until I get better.

Oh, by the way, have I told you? I think there's something wrong with my body or hormone or something because I'm sick since Monday and I have all these pimples across my face!

I look pathetic, I know! Even my eyes are not balanced. Okay, you can stop laughing now.......
No, really. I'm serious.

Ballet

I have a presentation tomorrow and I just finished preparing for it. I chose Ballet for my topic this time. I figured it'll be great and easy since I have all the certificates and trophies for materials to bring, so I can get extra marks. But I was wrong. Of course, how could I forget that Ballet isn't all about dancing. I have to study about the history, the origins and even their costumes evolution from the 1400s! Not that I'm complaining.

I just learnt that Ballet came from Italy, not UK. I thought UK was the one who invented the idea of ballet because my former ballet academy came from the UK. In fact, UK wasn't even the second country to have ballet. It was France and Russia came in at third. UK came only after Russia. How embarrassing. And I thought my academy was the number one in the world!

I'm planning to bring this certificate along (with my name on it, of course) just so the examiner will give me extra marks for bringing extra materials and I'm hoping she/he will believe I'm a professional ballerina(which I am not -__-).

Things and photos like these really make me miss my ballet days... But no procrastinating please! I don't have time for that. Need to rock this final presentation and I'll be done with this course! Wish me luck, you guys!!

FashionValet & Minz Fashion Show/Tea Party

Forgive me but I don't know why it took me so long to post about this event. Believe it or not, I won an invite(with plus one) to this private event when I purchased a necklace from FashionValet(FV) and only God knows how loud I screamed in the car when I saw an extra envelope in my parcel! Okay, actually Zahir knows too because he was in the car with me.

The fashion show/tea party was a private party held at T Forty Two in Bangsar Village 2 at 3pm on March 29th 2011, which was on Tuesday. Thank God our class ends at 11am on Tuesdays. So we went to lunch at Midvalley and had to rush back to college to get ready. We were lucky that Bangsar is so near to UM! Pheww!

I invited Reena to come with me since she was the one who introduced me to the founder of FV's (Vivy Yusof) blog. I wouldn't even know about FV if it weren't for Reena. We were so nervous for the event because well.. because we're regular people, not a magazine's editor or a famous blogger or a founder of an online boutique. I swear, by the time we took a seat, my palms were all sweaty and I could hear my heart beating, literally. It was my first time going to a fashion show, so forgive me for being so nervous! All I could think was did I dress okay? Do I look okay? Why didn't I choose to wear something more attractive? Is my hair behaving? Why didn't I put on extra compact powder? And can everyone hear my heart beating so fast and loud??

Reena and I both felt so out of place, surrounded by all these professionals and pretty people! But after a while being uncomfortable, two women approached our table and sat with us and everything went great after that. We relaxed a little and just enjoyed the food they served.

I love their macaroons!! The best I've tried so far!

The models walked out right after the founders of FashionValet.net and Minz sisters gave their speeches. Minz collections were so pretty, I almost snatched a necklace from a model's neck! Okay, I'm kidding. But it'll be nice too if...

By the time the models walked out one by one, Reena and I relaxed ourselves and the next thing we know, we were taking photos with the people there. My favourite photo of the day is this:

I know I look weird in this photo, but hello! Vivy was beside me!! Sorry, I know I'm acting stupid but I just adore Vivy so much!

We went around to take photos with other people too after that :)

Asma' from FashionValet

With the gorgeous Minz ladies :)

The woman who sat with us, Shera from Harpers Bazaar

We decided to go back when we were satisfied with all the photos we got and we received goodie bags! Oh, I LOVE goodie bags, if you must know :)

Reena and I couldn't stop smiling the whole way back and we even smiled while sleeping that night! We were just so happy that we have witnessed an awesome event and met with the friendliest and greatest people in fashion industry in Malaysia.

And I still can't get over the fact that I met Vivy Yusof! :p

Thanks to FashionValet and Minz for having me at your private event!

APK

APK as in Asas Pembudayaan Keusahawanan (Basic of Entrepreneurship Culture). APK is one of the university courses that is compulsory for students to take. So on Wednesday and Thursday, my whole class had to open up a stall and experienced being entrepreneurs for real. Our task was to sell any kinds of food. So my team came up with rojak buah, Bakso(Indonesian food), Herbal eggs and drinks.

I know our rojak looks all messy and gross, but it tasted so nice, I swear!

Noor opened a stall too and she sold vintage clothes. I even got myself two tops, only for RM20 for both!!

Miejah's stall was next to ours which made the whole thing even better to have close friends just a few steps away!

Though we looked like a pair of 'mak ciks' throughout the two days but we had fun regardless :)

Zahir and my sister came to support too!

Despite everything, we do love University Malaya (UM) :)

UM's 11th College Dinner

Everyone knows I'm not staying at my hostel in UM since I have Summer (my car) and UM is only 15 minutes drive (without traffic) from home. But as I still have a room there in 11th College which I've never stepped in after orientation week, I still have to pay for the fees and such. The fees includes a dinner since this semester is coming to an end. I dreaded to go because well, I don't have any friends there in 11th college as I don't spend my time there. Okay, maybe a few friends but we barely see each other. So I decided not to go. I'd rather burn RM130 than going alone looking all pathetic by myself.

And then Siti texted me one day, asking if I have any table for that dinner. Of course! I forgot I have my lovely friends there, it's just that we haven't met in a while so I forgot that they are in the same residential college as me! After thinking it over, I decided to go. And last night was the night! Frankly, I wasn't excited for this dinner because there was nothing to look forward to. Except the fact that I can doll myself up for a night, and of course, I get to see and spend time with my friends.

Everything was pretty much haywire yesterday because my condominium's organisers decided to organise a family day on the same day as my dinner. So in the morning, I had to go down to the lobby to help Mom with the registration, the games and all. I lost track of time and it was almost 5 when I was taking care of the kids that took part for a colouring contest. My salon appointment was at 5!! So I ran up and showered before going to the salon. I had to put on my make up as fast as I can after that.

I arrived at a hotel in Mines, Palace of the Golden Horses, greeted by Siti and Nikki. We had to sit at a table with 4 strangers. They're guys, I might add. At first, I was all, 'nooo, we won't be able to laugh out loud and be ourselves and we have to be all proper mannered' as they're our seniors. And boy, was I wrong. Looking at them, I thought they'd be boring but lesson learnt (yet again), don't judge the book by it's cover! They really were funny and made us all laugh that night. After the event wrapped up, we just roamed around the ballroom to find people we know just so we could take pictures together.

I seriously had fun though this dinner wasn't really something I was looking forward to go. But thanks to everyone at my table, especially Nikki and Siti, last night was great :)

How to make money

Who doesn't love money? Everyone does. Everyone needs money to survive. When someone says, money isn't everything, they are lying. What are you going to wear if you don't have money? What are you going to use to shelter your family without money? Yes, money isn't everything but can you actually own the essentials and needs in life if you don't have money? Doesn't matter if you own a lot of money or a little, you still need money, regardless of the amount. I once read somewhere, that if someone says money can't buy you happiness, then they sure don't know where to shop, or something like that. And I couldn't agree more! Being me, an 'almost-shopaholic' (Almost because I sometimes know when to save my money. SOMETIMES), of course I love money and money can definitely make me happy by buying whatever I want but whenever I spend my money too much, I started to regret. Now, this is not a healthy way of life, I must say. But I couldn't help it!

This semester, it's compulsory for my whole class to take an Entrepreneur subject where we learn how to make business. On Tuesday, there was a talk on 'How To Make Money', as a part of the subject. As lazy as I was, because trust me, as much as I love money and shopping, I'm not really interested on how to make them. My way of making money is to save my allowance and when it's enough, I'll go shopping. Whenever I need extra money to buy something more expensive than my allowance, I will save up and not eat outside for the rest of the week. Simple as that. So I was dreading to go to the 4 hours of talk. But turned out, I enjoyed the whole talk! I'm always sleepy when I go to talks but this time, I'm wide awake!

Y. Bhg. Senator Dato' Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman, the owner of a well-known real estate consultancy company, Rahim & Co. and Y. Bhg. Dato' Ghazali B. Dato' Yusoff, a graduate from UM himself were there to deliver the talk. Dato' Rahim's first sentence was, " if you want to make money, then Estate Management is the way". Of course, being one of Estate Management student among all other courses in the hall made me proud. Dato' Rahim also said that most of the millionaires in the world came from Real Estate background. By the time he said that, I was imagining myself being a millionaire 6 years from now, shopping the whole Pavillion. A girl can dream right?? :p

But what attracted me the most on that day was Dato' Ghazali's charming personality. He started as a musician playing in small bars and now who would've thought, he is the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of Nusantara Technology Sdn Bhd. His talk definitely opened my eyes to the outside world and how we have to think and work hard for money.

Oh and Noor was there at the talk because she's taking the subject too. So after the talk, we couldn't help but to take pictures together as it's been so long since we last see each other.
